Sa’ya Salon Spa opened May 1, 2024 and is owned by Vanessa Mountain. Before our rebranding we operated as T’Sala Salon Spa from 2011-2024.

We offer an inclusive, eco-friendly environment committed to providing professional beauty services and wellness services for everyone.

We will ALWAYS strive to go the distance to accomplish this mission with passion, expert advice, utmost professionalism and courtesy.

We proudly use KEVIN.MURPHY professional hair colour in our salon, complimented by amika: hair care and HydroPeptide skin care.

Matthew J – Artistic Director

Matthew J has a passion for hair design and prides himself in delivering chic and trendy looks based on his guests’ individual needs. He is creative, artistic and always up to date in current fashion trends and he excels in custom colour design.

Professionally trained in Calgary, AB. Canada, Matthew J has taken advanced training in New York City and Toronto with top International Hair Artists. He has been working in the industry for over 20 years; a Certified Haircolorist (Redken), KEVIN.MURPHY Session.Stylist and holds a licensed Red Seal Journeyman in Hairdressing.

Matthew J styled hair for CityTV’s Ford Supermodel Search of the World and styled hair for the Closing Ceremonies for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. He styled British barrister Cherie Booth Blair’s hair and is the current Hair Artist for actress Barbara Beall.

Vanessa Mountain – Owner/Wellness Practitioner

Vanessa is a member of the N’quatqua Band of the St’at’imc Nation in the south-west central interior of B.C., and married into the ‘Namgis Band of the Kwak’wala speaking tribes off northern Vancouver Island. She has spent her career in the finance and administration industry. She brings this experience to Sa’ya Salon Spa as she has been running two other businesses of her own.

She embarked on a new path of self-healing by training in a few different modalities in the Complementary and Alternative Medicine category of services. She received her Master/Instructor certification in Usui Reiki in 2021. Along with Reiki, Vanessa is certified in Biofield tuning and Sound Bath healing using crystal singing bowls.
